Over the last couple of years, the political landscape on this planet has changed enormously, of which the main cause, I guess, is the present US president.
By now, a name change might seem in order; The Disunited States of America, perhaps?
Mr. Trump raises a lot of emotions, from fierce loyalty of his followers to utter disdain by the opposition.
Especially on the artistic side, the reactions have been overwhelmingly negative; whether in writing, paintings, video, or songs, it’s hard to find an artist who has anything positive to say about him. (*)
With that in mind, I put together this collection of protest songs, most of them brand new, but some going back to 2016.
Artists featured include well-known ones, such as Bruce Springsteen, U2, Bette Midler, Dropkick Murphy’s, Alabama Shakes, etc, to fairly obscure performers like Cheekface, Jesse Welles, Wheelchair Sports Camp, a.o.
Lyrics vary from expressing outrage, expletives, abstract rants, to thoughtful narratives…
The shortest song here (Fiona Apple's Tiny Hands chant) is just under a minute long, the longest (almost 7 minutes) comes from Johnny Blue Skies & the Dark Clouds' Ain't That a Bitch epic...

I thought it was no more than polite to ask Donald his opinion about this collection before posting, and to my big surprise, he sent me this reply:

Thanks for letting me know in advance that you’re putting this low-life collection of songs (sung by losers) together. Since you are not American but just Dutch, I can’t really blame you for not knowing any better. You Dutch should continue doing what you’re good at: sticking your fingers into dykes!
Anyway, despite the appalling quality of these ‘songs’, you can’t deny that any US president has ever generated such a huge amount of 'music', which clearly shows that once again, I’m The Greatest!
